TECO Gas Company has secured the gas leak, and residents have been allowed to return to their homes, according to Ocala Fire Rescue. Fire rescue personnel have cleared the scene, they said.

EARLIER:

A gas leak has forced an evacuation of homes along three streets in Ocala, fire officials said Tuesday.

Several Ocala Fire Rescue units responded to the gas leak on SE 43rd Terrace.

TECO Gas Company crews are working to find and fix the compromised gas line.

Residents along 43rd Terrace, 44th Avenue and 45th Terrace have been asked to leave their homes until the gas line is secured.

No injuries have been reported, Ocala Fire Rescue said.
