Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for the week ahead:

  • Colder on Tuesday, Wednesday
  • Temperatures warm back up by Friday

A rather windy day across central Florida, with gusts over 30 mph for some of you. Temperatures were able to climb into the low to mid 60s, but still well shy of the 73 degree average. Another cold front is moving in, and will set off a few isolated showers tonight. This front will bring another push of cold air into the region.

Highs and lows will be running 10 to 15 degrees below average through the end of the week. We are looking at highs in the 50s close to 60 tomorrow through Thursday, with lows dipping down into the 30s and 40s. Anticipate areas of frost in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Brisk winds with us until Wednesday night will make it feel even colder if you’re out and about. After tonight, high pressure settling in is expected to give us a dry stretch and plenty of sunshine for at least the next 7 to 9 days. Although we bump briefly back to 70 by Friday and Saturday, another shot of cool air spills south Sunday.

Seas were quite rough along the east coast today, but surfers were loving it. More sunshine is in store tomorrow along with a gusty wind from the west-northwest. Surfers won’t have quite the waves tomorrow. It looks like fair conditions as the northeast swell eases with a bit of an east swell mix. Wave heights will be over 2 to 3 feet at times.
