A new work of public art is on permanent display in the Thornton Park neighborhood of Orlando.

A mural artist named “Evoca1” just finished painting a new mural Friday afternoon.

The painting shows a woman embracing a swan.

It is on display outside of the Falcon Bar and Gallery on the corner of Washington Street and Hyer Avenue.

The artist said he spent all week working on the project. His inspiration -- all of the swans at Lake Eola.

“It’s extremely important,” began Evoca1.

“It gives the neighborhood a new face. I think it makes people happy to be able to look at some art instead of just a blank wall, with just a solid color,” the Miami-based contemporary mural artist said.

The mural, which the business owner curated to add beauty to the neighborhood, was sponsored by the Thornton Park District Organization.
