The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a semi-truck with a white trailer that hit an Orlando woman Tuesday morning, seriously injuring her.

It happened around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Sand Lake Road and Kings Point Parkway.

FHP says the semi was traveling southbound on Kingspoint Parkway and Teresa Vasquez, 68, was standing on the north shoulder waiting to cross the road.

Investigators say the semi attempted to make a right turn onto westbound Sand Lake Road and traveled off the roadway and ran over Vasquez.

Troopers said the semi driver initially stopped but when emergency workers arrived on scene, the driver left in an unknown direction.

Vasquez was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where troopers say she is in serious but stable condition.

Investigators are asking anyone with information is asked to call FHP at (407) 737-2213.

FHP says the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
