Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for the rest of the week:

  • Another cool day
  • Cool pattern continues
  • Gradual warming trend

Tonight is cold, but not as cold as last night. Temperatures will be falling into the 40s, about 10 degrees warmer. Friday looks great, as we all top the 70s. Valentine’s Day weekend will be pretty nice as well. A weak cool front knocks us below 70 for a high Sunday.

High pressure is drifting across the peninsula swinging our wind around from the south-southwest. This will usher in slightly above average temperatures as our thermometer rises into the 70s Friday.

A weak front swinging across the area Saturday is set to bring highs back into the 60s close to 70, and into the middle to upper 60s on Valentine’s Day. This front won’t have any moisture to work with, so our sky stays dry.

Highs climb back into the mid-70s Monday, before the next front drops in Monday night. We’ll bump to a 20-percent rain chance Monday afternoon, go 40-percent Monday night, and 30-percent Tuesday. Temps moderate again next week.

A lingering long-shore flow should be weakening Friday.  We’ll have enough of a current to elevate the threat to moderate, and conditions will become more hazardous this weekend with stronger winds. A small wind swell, swell mix will keep wave heights around 1 to 2 feet, and the dominant period is 4 seconds.
