An Orlando family is safe after a hit-and-run suspect crashed into a bedroom of their Orange County home Wednesday afternoon.

At first, Joe Kinsey thought his daughter was joking when she told him someone ran into their house on Rio Grande Avenue and 19th Street.

However, he quickly realized she was serious by the tone of her voice.

“Just because tragedy happened today, that don’t mean I am going to give it up," Kinsey said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, several people were home at the time of the crash but no one was hurt.

The 27-year-old driver was taken into custody at the scene by Orlando Police.

That’s because he’s a suspect in a previous hit-and-run crash in Orlando.

Kinsey said his grandchild and his daughter had just left the bedroom 10 minutes before the crash.

“God led them out in time so it wouldn’t happen to them," said Joe Kinsey.

“When God is for you, nobody can be against you," Kinsey added.

An Orange County worker inspected the home and decided it is unsafe to live in right now.

With a decade of memories inside the now broken walls, Kinsey wants to rebuild and reflect.

“This can be replaced. You can’t ever replace my kids," Kinsey said.

FHP said charges are pending against the driver for this crash.

No word on what additional charges the driver may face from the previous hit-and-run case in Orlando.
