A cold front that is slipping south finally brought us some much needed rain with most getting between three quarters of an inch to an inch and a half in the gauge.
Dry air is moving in behind the front with somewhat cooler temperatures however, another cold front will be dropping our thermometers more Friday and Saturday.
High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday, then dropping into the mid to upper 60s Friday and Saturday. Lows will be dipping into the 40s by Saturday morning. The next cold front won’t have much moisture so there is only a 20 percent chance for showers Thursday and Friday.
The cold front has passed south shifting wind out of the northwest, so wave heights will only be 1 to 2 feet Wednesday. Surf forecast is poor but at least the rip current threat will be low. Water temperatures are near 69 at Daytona Beach to 72 at Cocoa Beach.
Rain in December welcome
If you've looked at your lawn lately you know the rain is needed.
Orlando and Melbourne had the second driest November on record, and Daytona Beach had the fourth driest.
Our last good rain in Orlando was October 6 and 7, with about 2 inches of rain.
We are looking at a quarter to a half inch of rain on average with this front right now.
