The FBI has confirmed that the human remains found in Tennessee are that of a woman who went missing in Ormond-by-the-Sea late last month after relocating there to get away from her estranged husband.

  • Rachael Lynn Madison's remains found Saturday
  • She'd relocated to Volusia to get away from estranged husband
  • Jarvis Madison is being held on unrelated charges in Indiana

Jarvis Madison, Rachael Lynn Madison's estranged husband, is currently in custody in Indiana on charges unrelated to her death. He was taken into custody Friday morning in Louisville, Kentucky.

Rachael was last seen on the afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 27, when she told relatives she was going out for a jog. She never returned. She had left Indiana to distance herself from Jarvis, investigators said.

The investigation is being led by the FBI Jacksonville Division, with help from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, FBI Knoxville, FBI Louisville, FBI Pittsburgh, U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and the Indiana State Police.
