We had a quiet end to our weekend with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Highs Sunday afternoon reached the upper 70s along the coast to low 80s inland. Our quiet weather comes to an end Monday. An approaching system will bring showers and even storms to start out our work week.

Clouds will increase overnight and we’re looking at mostly cloudy skies heading into Monday morning. With winds continuing out of the south, temperatures will be mild. Lows will only fall into the mid to upper 60s.

Monday will be mostly cloudy and warm with high temperatures in the low 80s. No rain is expected in the morning, but chances will pick up through the afternoon as a front gets closer to Central Florida. Even a few thunderstorms are possible later in the day.

The front will actually move through Tuesday, bringing a decent chance for showers and storms. Lightning and gusty wind will be the main threats with any storm that develops.

Temperatures will be warm through mid-week, but are expected to drop into the 70s following Tuesday’s front. Another front will move in on Thursday. Only a slight chance for a few showers, but this front will be responsible for a big drop in our temperatures. Highs heading into next weekend will only be in the 60s with overnight lows in the 40s.

Ocean conditions will deteriorate throughout the day on Monday with an approaching cold front. Waters will be choppy with a decent southerly wind and a moderate rip current risk remains.
