FHP: Man and his dog struck by car, killed in Kissimmee

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal crash involving a car striking a man walking with his dog on Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee Saturday.

Officials said the crash occurred at the intersection of OBT and Keen Street. For reasons unknown, the victim, Tony Johnson, 50, was walking his dog in the southbound lanes of OBT.

Carlos Matos, 27, was also traveling south on OBT in his 2010 BMW. Matos was unable to avoid Johnson, and struck both him and the dog with the front of his car.

Both Johnson and his dog were killed in the crash.

No further information has been released.
