Two Volusia County teens were arrested Friday, accused of trying to rob a 12-year-old boy in Edgewater, police said.

  • No one was injured in the attempted robbery

The incident occurred at 2:22 p.m. at the intersection of 30th Street and Sabal Palm Drive.

According to police, Corey Cotton, 18, threatened the boy with a pocket knife and demanded his bicycle.

The 12-year-old fled the area and contacted police.

Cotton was located, along with a 16-year-old, at the intersection of 30th Street and Juniper Drive. Both were arrested.

Cotton was charged with attempted armed robbery.  Police said the 16-year-old had a fixed blade knife and was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

The 12-year-old was not injured during the attempted robbery, police said.
