A man accused of engaging in a shootout in Apopka Friday has been taken into custody, according to police.

Police received a call after 7 p.m. about an exchange of gunfire between two men in the area near Park Avenue and Davis Court.

According to police, the shootout began after an argument between two neighbors.

Denroy Samuels told officers a dispute with his neighbor, Ronnie Bridges, Bridges retrieved a rifle and threatened him. Samuels retrieved his ownhandgun for defense. According to the incident report, the two men began shooting at each other.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Bridges' residence along with an arrest warrant. Apopka crime scene personnel recovered shell casings and other evidence. Bridges' rifle was not located, police said.

Later in the morning, police found Bridges and took him into custody.

Some residents in the area were evacuated as a precaution.

A woman in the area told police her vehicle was hit by several bullets as she drove on Park Avenue.

No one was injured in the shooting, according to police.
