The Orange County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they are calling armed and dangerous after he allegedly shot and killed a pregnant mother of two.

Since the Tuesday night shooting, there has been no sign of the man accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend. Orange County court records reveal the man named Markeith Demangzlo Loyd, 41, has been arrested nearly 20 times since 1996.

His convictions include: battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He spent four years in a state prison for battery on a law enforcement officer.

He was also charged with murder, but that charge was later dropped.

Loyd is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend outside of a home on Long Peak Drive around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

According to investigators, 24-year-old Sade Dixon answered the front door after Loyd wouldn't stop banging on it. When she opened the door, deputies said Loyd shot her.

Moments after she was shot, one of her brothers ran outside to help her, but in the process, 26-year-old Ronald Steward was shot.

He has been in the hospital in critical condition since Tuesday night.

During the shooting, Dixon's two children, parents and brothers were inside the house. Her children are 5 and 7-years-old.

Deputies have been searching for Loyd since Tuesday night.

The family wants him to turn himself in.

"I truly believe that the best situation here is to let the law do their jobs and please stop the senseless violence because it isn't bringing anybody back. I don't want anyone to have to go through what me and my wife are going through right now," said Ron Daniels, father of shooting victims.

A Facebook page believed to be that of Loyd's showed a finished Facebook Live video of the former couple going to an ultrasound appointment last week on Dec. 7.

The video showed the couple smiling and it also showed that they would not know the sex of the baby until Dixon was 16 weeks pregnant. She was 13 weeks along when she was killed.

Meanwhile, people who live in the neighborhood are still shocked over the tragic news.

One woman spoke to News 13 about the mother of two.

"She was a sweet woman, a very sweet woman, just a bad situation," said Andra McCarty, neighbor.

Investigators consider Loyd to be armed and dangerous.

If you happen to see him or know his whereabouts, contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office or call 911.
