  • Groundbreaking held for Fisher House Orlando
  • Will provide place to stay for families of vets getting treatment

The groundbreaking ceremony for Fisher House Orlando happened in Kissimmee.

Fisher Houses provide a place to stay at no cost for families, caregivers of veterans and active-duty military personnel receiving treatment.

The homes are put near major military and VA medical centers nationwide, close to the medical center or hospital they serve.

Officials said the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $320 million in out-of-pocket costs for stay and transportation.
