A new bridge on Kirkman Road for the I-4 Ultimate Project is opening next week, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
- New bridge on Kirkman Road to open
- Traffic on northbound Kirkman Road will shift
- Bridge is part of the I-4 Ultimate Project
Northbound lanes of Kirkman Road will shift to the new bridge over westbound Interstate 4 starting Nov. 6. The eastbound I-4 exit ramp—Exit 75B—to northbound Kirkman Road will shift to the west as part of the new traffic pattern, officials said.
Drivers will need to exit a quarter of a mile sooner on I-4 for the new ramp.
Both northbound Kirkman Road over I-4 and the Exit 75B will be closed starting at 4 p.m. Sunday. The roads will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday. Detours will be setup during the closures.
As part of the 21-mile I-4 Ultimate Project, more than 140 bridges will be widened, replaced or added. I-4 Ultimate is expected to be completed in 2021.
