Drivers who use Maitland Boulevard in Orange County to get on to Interstate 4 east will notice some changes starting Friday.

Temporary on-ramps just opened as a part of the I-4 Ultimate Project.

Crews worked overnight to close down the old ramps and open up the new ramps.

If you’re coming from westbound Maitland Boulevard, you will need to decide much sooner if you want to turn onto I-4 east because the on-ramp is being combined with the exit to Hope Road, about 600 feet sooner.

The ramp from eastbound Maitland Boulevard is close to the old ramp.

The $2.3 billion I-4 Ultimate Project, which is designed to reconstruct 21 miles of the interstate, should be completed in 2021.
