Motorists on westbound Maitland Boulevard should prepare for multiple lane closures overnight tonight.

  • Crews trying again to shift traffic on WB Maitland Boulevard
  • Westbound lanes will close overnight
  • Plan is to have traffic shifted in time for morning rush

Work crews with the "I-4 Ultimate" project will again try to implement a traffic shift on the roadway, also known as State Road 414, between westbound Interstate 4 and State Road 434. The shift will move traffic from the existing lanes to newly paved lanes just to the south, the Florida Department of Transportation said Monday.

The plan is for crews to close lanes between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., work overnight and have the traffic shift in place by Tuesday morning.

The work is subject to clear weather, and rain could result in another postponement, FDOT said.

After the traffic is shifted, I-4 Ultimate crews will begin work on an elevated Maitland Boulevard over the cross streets of Lake Destiny Road, Keller Road and Maitland Summit Boulevard.
