The former finance manager of Belle Isle is accused of stealing almost $16,000 from the city.

Lucia Ramos, 43, of Orlando, faces fraud and grand theft charges, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

An arrest affidavit said current City of Belle Isle Finance Manager Tracey Richardson called police on Oct. 12
to report that her predecessor had stolen $15,853 in city money.

Ramos transferred $8,000 into her paycheck over the course of 13 months and sent 14 separate unathorized payments to her personal credit card over the course of six months, between January 2011 and June 2012, according to the affidavit.

Ramos was booked into the Orange County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
