A Volusia County man has been charged with attempted murder after attacking his roommate with a pickax, according to deputies.

Daniel Brown, 47, was arrested Tuesday. Deputies were called to a residence after reports of a fight.
When deputies arrived, they said Dylan Everett told them he and Brown had been using methamphetamines when they got into an argument. He told investigators that during the argument, Brown hit him with a pickax.
Everett had severe lacerations on his arm and leg, deputies said. He was taken to Halifax Hospital for treatment.
Brown was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail. He also faces charges of trafficking and manufacturing meth.
