Those hit hardest by Hurricane Matthew can get some help Wednesday.

Federal and state representatives will be on hand for two events, hoping to help those impacted by the storm.

U.S. Republican Congressman Ron DeSantis is hosting a workshop at the Nova Community Center Gym in Ormond Beach to help those who need help.

Just this week, a Volusia County family claimed they were denied FEMA assistance, even though the storm pushed a large tree through the roof of their house.

If you have damage to your property, lost your job or something else happened because of Matthew, DeSantis recommends you go to this workshop.

Representatives from the following organizations will be on hand to help residents go through the process of applying for assistance:

  • FEMA
  • The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • U.S. Small Business Administration
  • American Red Cross
  • United Way
  • Catholic Charities
  • Florida SBDC Network
  • Florida Department of Children and Families
  • Florida Department of Elder Affairs
  • Florida Department of Economic Opportunity
  • Florida Division of Emergency Management
  • Florida Department of Financial Services
  • Volusia County Animal Control
  • CareerSource Flagler Volusia

It’s from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, if you want to learn more about the emergency repairs being made to A1A in Flagler County, there’s an open house going on Wednesday.

The close to $4 million project will take 45 days to complete in Flagler Beach.

Florida Department of Transportation representatives will be on hand from 2:30 p.m. afternoon until 7:30 p.m. at the Flagler Beach City Hall.
