One penguin at SeaWorld Orlando is sporting a new look.

  • Adelie penguin experienced feather loss
  • She had trouble regulating her body temperature
  • The wetsuit was custom-fit for her

The park created a one-of-a-kind wetsuit for a female Adelie penguin that recently experienced feather loss. The condition prevented her from being able to naturally regulate her body temperature, according to park officials.

So, SeaWorld's aviculture team decided to create a wetsuit that would mimic the penguin's former coat of feathers.

The park’s wardrobe department designed and sewed the wetsuit, which was custom-fit just for her.

The penguin can swim, sleep and eat with the other penguins, all while wearing the suit.
