With two weeks until Election Day, early voting has begun across most of Central Florida. And Voting is underway in the 2016 presidential election in most of Central Florida.

Eddie Brigdon wanted to be the first person to early vote this morning because he’s already made up his mind on who he wants for president.

“Basically, I just feel like by now there shouldn’t be any question,” he said.

Dozens of people streamed in this morning to make their voice count, like Jeremy Seghers of Orlando.

“I’m excited of the possibility of Hillary Clinton becoming our first female president. Not just that, I think what she’s going to offer for the country goes well above and beyond on her gender,” Seghers said.

But some are voting for Republican challenger Donald Trump.

“I can’t consciously allow Hillary to be in the office. I may not have a choice on that but I voted for Trump on that,” said Orlando voter John Klaeres.

Election workers spent the weekend installing voting booths and electronic voting machines at the 17 early voting sites in Orange County.

In addition to Orange County, early voting also started Monday in Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties.

Sumter County residents will begin early voting Tuesday.

Even before early voting began, more than 1 million Floridians already had voted by mail.

There has been a steady stream of mail ballots (formerly called absentee ballots) coming in to election offices.

Mail ballots will start to be processed Monday in Orange County. The Supervisor of Elections office is hoping to dispel a big myth that mail ballots do not count.

For those ballots that are damaged or have some other issue, they’re still counted either by machine or by hand.

To make it real convenient, the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office has a drive-thru window where you can return your mail-in ballot without getting out of your car.
