A motorcyclist died after a crash on State Road 50 (Colonial Drive) in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the motorcycle collided with another vehicle about 11:15 p.m. Saturday.

The driver of a Nissan Sentra, identified as Christopher Shuman, 23, of Sanford, was traveling east on SR 50 and attempted to turn left onto SR 417. Troopers say Shuman failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of the motorcycle, which was traveling west.

The front of the motorcycle hit the back of the Nissan. The motorcyclist was thrown into the middle lane. According to troopers, a third vehicle hit the motorcyclist, who was dragged underneath the vehicle for a quarter of a mile.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Kim Montes said. The identity of the person has not been released.

 The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
