Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine headlined an early voting rally in Orlando on Sunday as part of yet another campaign swing through Florida.

  • Kaine outlined Hillary Clinton's vision for America
  • Protester carrying 'Bill Clinton is a rapist' sign escorted out
  • Kaine stops in Miami, Palm Beach on Monday

For the most part, the Virginia senator was applauded as he spoke at the Dover Shores Community Center. At one point during the rally, however, an person carrying a sign stating “Bill Clinton is a rapist” was escorted out of the event.

That incident did not stop Kaine from outlining his and Hillary Clinton's vision for America should they be elected. Kaine discussed job creation, equal pay and creating better health care options for all Americans.

At one point, Kaine recalled why Clinton asked him to come on board the campaign.

"I want my administration to be known by just ... can we make a practical difference in people’s lives?" Kaine said. "And you’ve done enough stuff that you can help us remember what success is."

“It’s got to be the meaningful and simple and measurable and practical things that make a difference. This is who Hillary Clinton is. This is why she’s going to make such a great president.”

A number of people lined up to hear Kaine speak at the rally Sunday. Among them was Mary Angela Alessandri, 18, a first-time voter.

“I am just really excited that this is my first time voting," Alessandri said. "Honestly, I am kind of speechless.”

Alessandri came out to the rally with her 91-year-old grandmother, Cathy. For them, it’s not just about voicing their support but also bonding during the process.

“If you have a uterus, a lot of men don’t know what to do with us,” Cathy Alessandri said. “And I am so proud to think this is my granddaughter's first time to vote. Though she is not party affiliated, she is going to vote for Hillary.”

Come Nov. 8, the Alessandris plan to go out to the polls together.
