Brevard County Animal Services came to the rescue of two malnourished dogs Thursday.

Sheriff's deputies arrived at the Grant-Valkaria home after hearing that the dogs might be in bad shape.

The two dogs are both approximately 1 year old and even though their conditions are extremely critical, it is believed that both dogs will survive with medical attention food and proper care, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page stated.

Neighbors didn't know the house was abandoned, but were frustrated with whoever was living there.

"It's pretty sad, they don't have to do that, they could give (them to) somebody that will take care of them," said neighbor Harold Milton.

The dogs are both expected to survive and be adopted.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey has a warning for the owners.

"We will identify, locate, arrest, and prosecute the monsters responsible," he said.
