The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to locate a murder suspect who should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous," deputies said Thursday.

Deputies responded at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 16 to 1165 Jordan Road in Merritt Island after reports of shots fired. When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a victim who suffered a gunshot wound. The man, 36-year-old Samuel Sweeting, of Merritt Island, was transported to an area hospital, where he died.

Investigators identified 34-year-old Regginald Jones, of Merritt Island, as a suspect. There's an active warrant for first-degree murder for Jones, and deputies said "he should be considered armed and extremely dangerous."
