Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Wednesday night and the weekend ahead:

  • Cold front moving into the area
  • Weekend temps down about 10 degrees
  • Little, if any rain, over next 7 days
  • SEE BELOW: See the 7-day forecast

Tonight will become mostly clear and dry, with temperatures getting down into the mid 60s for most areas of Central Florida. Thursday will be quite nice, but warm.

Highs will be above normal by a few degrees again, topping out in the mid 80s under a partly cloudy sky.

Then, get ready for our first real taste of fall.

A cold front will be pushing through the state from the north by Friday, sending our temperatures down by almost 10 degrees from where we have been lately. Until then, our temperatures will remain slightly above normal Thursday and Friday.

Lows will be mostly in the mid to upper 60s with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Late Friday afternoon, dry air will begin to infiltrate, scouring out the clouds as the humidity falls.

High temperatures this weekend are expected to be in the 70s, with lows dipping into the 50s. Little, if any, rain is in the forecast for the next seven days.

We are still tracking a tropical wave, dubbed Invest 99, east of the Bahamas that could have formation in a couple of days.

Surfing conditions are still set to be poor for Thursday with wave heights a bit lower, from 4-5 feet. The rip current threat is still high and is expected to stay high through the week.
