A search is underway for the man who grabbed an 11-year-old boy as he walked home from school, according to Kissimmee police.

The 11 year-old boy told News 13 Wednesday that it was the scariest moment of his life.

Now, parents in this neighborhood around Dillingham Avenue and Patrick Street want that attempted kidnapper caught.

According to Kissimmee Police, a black 2-door car attempted to lure the 11-year-old boy by offering candy and telling him he had won a cash prize.

While the man grabbed the boy's backpack, the kid was able to yank him away and run off.

Kissimmee Police Department says it will be patrolling the area more often.

"This is very concerning obviously," said Stacie Miller with the Kissimmee Police Department. "A child was grabbed so we want to get a hold of this person and talk to him."

Briceida Baez is the mother of the boy and two other children. She said she personally wanted to pick up her son from the bus stop after hearing about the incident. She said her son is a friend of the boy.

"I never waited for my son right here because I live three houses back," Baez said. "But right now for the situation yesterday I am just waiting for my son right here."

We reached out to the Osceola County School District. They are asking the local school to review stranger danger and safety tips for traveling to and from school with the students.

The suspect is described as a 5' tall, brown skinned male without a foreign accent. He was wearing a black shirt, khaki pants and black shoes. He is also described as having some kind of skin discoloration on his forearms.
