A neighbor also reported seeing a man matching the description of the suspect leave the area in a silver Ford Focus. As deputies searched for the vehicle, they received a tip from someone at a Lowe’s store who saw a man matching the suspect’s description.

Using tips from witnesses, deputies found the vehicle and a suspect near the intersection of Beachway Drive and Belle Terre Parkway. The driver, identified as Alex Haggett, was detained. The passenger, identified at David Willett, was found by deputies near Belleaire Drive and Becket Lane. He was also detained.

The teen and the neighbor were able to positively identify Willett as the man at the home. Willett was booked into the Flagler County Jail on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief. His brother, Haggett, was charged will attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling.

“I am extremely thankful that the 13-year-old victim was not injured after she was confronted by David Willett,” Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre said in a statement. “I am also very thankful to the witnesses who provided important information to our deputies. Without their assistance, we may not have been so quick in arresting them.”
