Floridians have until 5 p.m. today to register to vote.

After the Florida Democratic Party filed a lawsuit, U.S. District Judge Mark Walker last week extended the deadline to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

It was originally last Tuesday

Florida Gov. Rick Scott had opposed the voter registration extension, saying that "people have had time to register."

In court papers, the general counsel for Hillary Clinton's campaign said Scott "unambiguously ordered" Florida citizens to evacuate, resulting in voters who have been prevented from being able to register.

Florida currently has more than 12.5 million registered voters.

Voters must register in the county they live in. They have to fill out the voter registration application, which they can get at county elections officers, libraries or post offices, or download online.

Once the application is filled out, residents must make sure they sign the application and either drop it off at the county elections office by 5 p.m., or mail it out with a postmark that shows it was mailed by 5 p.m. today.

You can get your application through the Florida Division of Elections website.

Voters who are already registered can check and make sure their registration is up to date through your county supervisor of elections office. You can find all 67 counties here.
