Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Monday night and the workweek ahead:

  • Isolated coastal showers overnight
  • Mix of sun, clouds for Tuesday
  • Highs Tuesday will be in the mid 80s
  • Rough surf for east coast beaches
  • SEE BELOW: See the 7-day forecast

Most of us will become partly cloudy to mostly clear overnight with only an isolated light rain shower possible along the coast.

Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s to low 70s as our wind relaxes through the night. Tuesday will start our mostly sunny with partly cloudy conditions developing by afternoon.

The chance for rain remains around 20 percent for a few fast-moving isolated showers. Temperatures will top out in the mid 50s along with a northeast wind gusting 15-20 mph at the beach.

Another elongated dome of high pressure has built back into the state continuing our flow off the Atlantic out of the northeast.

Afternoon highs will get into the mid 80s for a few days with lows falling to near 70 degrees. Breezes will begin picking up Tuesday afternoon and gusting between 15-20 mph then decreasing at night.

There is a 20 percent chance or less for fast-moving isolated showers through the week.

A cold front will be sweeping in late Friday into Saturday, and if it pushes far south of us as expected, we should notice temperatures drop several degrees this weekend, including a drop in humidity.

We are also tracking a tropical wave near the Turks and Caicos Islands that has a chance for formation over the next several days. It is dubbed Invest 99.

Surf conditions will be poor to fair Tuesday with an east-northeast wind swell, allowing wave heights to build around 2-3 feet. Rip current risk is still high, so stay close to shore and near a lifeguard whenever possible. Water temperatures are in the mid to upper 70s.
