The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office responded Sunday night to the Tropical Manor Apartments in Merritt Island after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area.

A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office, which added that the man was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
The shooting occurred at about 10 p.m.
