A man’s body was found Friday night in Lake Monroe, according to Sanford police.

Police responded to an area near East 2nd Street and Elliot Avenue after receiving calls about a vehicle that went into the lake.
When officers arrived, they found the body about 40 to 50 yards offshore.
The man’s identity has not been released.
An official cause of death has not yet been determined.
Investigators are trying to determine how the car ended up in the lake.
