Almost 80 firearms were stolen from a Port Orange gun shop as Hurricane Matthew stormed up the east coast of Florida, according to federal law enforcement officials.

The theft of the 70 guns occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 and 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 8 at Florida Gun Exchange at 5811 Ridgewood Ave. in Port Orange.
The business was without power because of Hurricane Matthew, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said in a news release.
The theft is being investigated by the ATF and the Port Orange Police Department.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
