Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for the weekend:

We had a quiet start to our Saturday, but showers and storms developed along the sea breeze collision late in the afternoon and continued through sunset. Heavy rain with these storms dumped several inches in a short amount of time along the I-4 corridor.

We’re looking at a decent chance for more rain to round out the weekend with temperatures staying in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. The rest of the upcoming week is a little less certain all depending on the exact track of Matthew.

Expect partly cloudy skies as we head toward daybreak on Sunday with temperatures in the mid to low 70s. Some of our northern counties may even drop down into the upper 60s.

With winds out of the east, an isolated coastal shower will be possible early Sunday morning.

Some moisture moving back in on Sunday will increase rain chances for the end of our weekend. We’ll see an increase in cloud cover during the afternoon as storms begin to build. Temperatures will be hot, climbing into the upper 80s.

Unsettled weather is forecast for a good portion of next week all depending on the exact track of Matthew. You’ll want to at least expect a chance for rain each day and winds picking up by mid-week. Once Matthew moves north, temperatures will drop back quite a bit for the end of the week.

In the tropics, Matthew quickly intensified Friday into a major hurricane. Matthew continues to meander in the southern Caribbean, but is expected to start turning north Sunday. As Matthew moves over Jamaica, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic in the next few days, some weakening is possible. Matthew will then move over the Bahamas by mid-week. Some re-strengthening may occur at this time. The center still looks to stay to our east, but the exact track will depend on what effects we’ll feel here in Central Florida. There is still a lot of uncertainty this far out, so stay tuned for updates.
