Police say they caught the man who resisted a traffic stop and dragged an Orlando police officer.

Trayston Morgan, 36, now faces several charges, including Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing/Eluding with Injury/Damage and Resisting an Officer with Violence.

Police say Officer Richard Fink tried to conduct a traffic stop near Kaley and Division Streets just after midnight.

According to police, Morgan, driving a green Ford F-150, rolled a stop sign and initially resisted being pulled over. When Morgan finally came to a stop by a Mobil gas station, police said Morgan was visibly shaking, presumably nervous, according to a police report.

The officer then asked Morgan to get out of his car. Instead, he pulled the door shut, ignored his shouted commands and wouldn't give up his keys. Even after the officer used a stun gun, the suspect drove off, dragging Fink. Morgan then sped away, hitting two large, iron poles, according to the report.

"From one minute they can be talking to the nicest person on Earth, the next minute, they're talking to someone who almost ran them over," said Orlando Chief of Police John Mina, in a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

Fink suffered a concussion, and was treated and released from the hospital. The officer was hired by the department in 2013, and works in the West Patrol Division, said police.

"That's the thing, when an officer pulls someone over for a traffic stop or contacts someone, they never know what is going to happen. That's why they have to be alert at all times," Mina said.

Police found the F-150 abandoned at Division Avenue and West South Street, about a mile away, but did not find the suspect.

Morgan was later located by OPD's Fugitive Unit, after a warrant was issued for his arrest Wednesday.

Morgan was also arrested in July of 2015 on several charges, including burglary and grand theft.
