A handful of Titusville firefighters have spent quite a bit of time off the ground recently as they learn how to help residents in various rescue situations.

Eight members of the Titusville Fire Department have been working on high-angle rescue techniques and equipment training in an effort to enhance their ability to help people who might be in need of rescue on high buildings and other places up in the air during emergencies.

The training took place in Ocala and Coral Springs.

The Titusville Fire Department said the training will lay the foundation for tower training in the coming weeks.
