Daytona Lagoon water park is getting a big upgrade as part of a deal that means new owners for the park.

United Parks is buying Daytona Lagoon from DBWP, LLC. The deal is expected to close on Sept. 30.

United Parks is pledging over $2 million in improvements over the next two years. They include a new attraction, a better food selection and improved amenities.

United Parks operates Hydro Adventures in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Rye Playland in New York. The CEO for United Parks said they believe Daytona Lagoon has enormous potential.

Daytona Lagoon opened in 2005. Besides the water park, it has Go-Karts, mini-golf and an arcade. It's located on next to the Daytona Beach Ocean Center, across from the beach.
