If you find yourself spending more time in the air conditioning this summer in order to stay cool, there's a way to get off the couch and chill out.

Under a tall hammock leads to a wading pool that springs eternal in Orange County.

"(It's) non-commercialized, open, beautiful, pretty and green," Miles Mann said.

Just east of Apopka awaits Wekiwa Springs State Park. It's known for one thing: water.

"It's a natural spring and not a manmade lake or something," Mann said.

The natural spring water is perfect for a hot summer day. And there have been plenty of those this summer in Central Florida. There's no chlorine in the water, either.

Mann and his brother, Riley, recently visited Wekiwa Springs from Minnesota.

"There is a big hole over there where the people are," Riley Mann said, pointing to the source of the spring.

Bathers can swim right over the 20-foot-deep hole, where 42 million gallons of water flow daily from the Floridian aquifer.

The gentle current is perfect for creating a flotilla with dad or chill out with mom.

"One of the great things in Florida is that we get to stay cool all summer long and cheap,” said Carrie Combee, from Lakeland.

An entire carload costs just $6 to get into Wekiwa Springs.

"You can’t beat it here in Florida, you know?" Combee said.

The location is perfect for parents and popular for summer romances. The only thing that could get in the way is the chilly 72-degree water.

"I had to get out for about 30 minutes because my hands were so numb," Combee said.
