A Palm Coast McDonald’s is celebrating after being recognized for raising the most money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

In May, McDonald’s customers throughout the country were invited to purchase paper hearts in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

In Central Florida, the “Lovin’ for RMHC” fundraiser collected almost $60,000 to support the charity’s mission to create family-centered programs and serve as a ‘home away from home’ for families with sick children receiving medical treatment at our local hospitals.  Proceeds directly benefit families being cared for by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida.

Residents in Palm Coast really showed some their support by donating over $5,000.

After all the donations were totaled, the McDonald’s located at 2 Old Kings Road in Palm Coast was recognized as the restaurant that raised the most money in Central Florida.

The restaurant credits their success to the custom Ronald McDonald House Charities display boxes with a display board to educate customers on the mission of RMHC of Central Florida. In addition restaurant team members rang bells and shouted out kudos of thanks to recognize customers who donated to the “Lovin’ for RMHC” fundraiser.

On Wednesday, owner/operator Sugie Riley and her team were presented a $1,000 gift for being the restaurant that raised the most money.

In a great example of the team continuing to give back to the community, they donated the check to the Ronald McDonald House to help fund activities for the families.
