School is out for the summer, but a group in Brevard County is already looking ahead to help needy children before classes resume in the fall.

The Brevard Schools Foundation is busy again with its annual school supply drive, and the need is as great as ever.

About 34,000 students in the county are on free or reduced lunch. The foundation is seeking school supplies for children. There are 80 designated drop-off locations across the area.

A back-to-school giveaway will take place July 25 at Clearlake Education Center, in Cocoa. The foundation also needs volunteers to sort and pack supplies during the week of July 20.

Some of the suggested donations are as follows:

  • Backpacks (no wheels)
  • No. 2 pencils
  • Colored pencils
  • Mechanical pencils
