A Palm Coast man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation that began earlier this year into the sexual battery of a child more than 20 years ago, officials said.

In January, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office took a report of a sexual battery that occurred in the county sometime between 1992 and 1995.

During the investigation, the victim revealed to detectives that she was sexually assaulted on multiple dates between the ages of 9 and 12 by Andrew Wilson, 56, of Palm Coast.

The victim stated Wilson would give her alcoholic beverages and force her to perform sex acts. The woman advised that after a few times, she pretended to fall asleep after drinking the alcohol, but it didn't stop Wilson from performing various types of sexual acts on her, a release states.

Detectives on Wednesday obtained an arrest warrant. Wilson is charged with one count of sexual battery on a person less than 12 years of age. He was arrested around 6 p.m. at the Flagler County Sheriff's Office's Investigative Services Division.

Wilson was booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility on $500,000 bond.

Anyone with more information on this case or anyone who might have been victimized by Wilson is asked to call the Flagler County Sheriff's Office at 386-586-4801.
