The Orange County Clerk of Courts could have a check waiting for you without you knowing it.
The Clerk's Office has posted a list of unclaimed checks on its website, myorangeclerk.com, saying those listed have until Sept. 1 to claim the money.
The checks, ranging in amount from $5 to $5,000, were mailed but never cashed, the clerk's office said, "perhaps because the intended recipient moved away and didn't leave a forwarding address, or put the check away and forgot about it."
The list includes uncashed jury checks, vendor payments and cash bonds.
Any money that's not collected by Sept. 1 is forwarded to the Clerk's Fine and Forfeiture Fund, which ultimately goes to the state of Florida.
