Volvo has unveiled a new type of seat — well, car seat — that is sure to please some parents.

Volvo Cars of North America recently showcased its concept in Shanghai.

By taking the front passenger seat out of the vehicle, Volvo creates space for a swiveling child seat in the front.

A video released by Volvo shows the seat can recline, which would allow the child the sleep. It also moves forward and backward for storage needs.

"We started by asking ourselves if we could make life easier for parents and safer for their children when it comes to the child seat experience," said Tisha Johnson, chief designer of interiors.

The car seat could be featured in Volvo’s XC90 Excellence model as part of the company’s luxury "Lounge Console Concept."

The child seat concept could face issues in the U.S. where some states prohibit children from riding in the front seat.
