Titusville Police say an arrest could be made very soon in the murder of a Mims woman inside an apartment.

It happened at the Emerald Place Apartments just after 11 Tuesday night. So far police are only saying the suspect is an acquaintance of the victim.

Police said the gun shots were fired from the outside, shattering the sliding glass door and striking 24-year-old Brandee Kelley.

Paul O'Donnell and his wife live just feet away.

They heard a loud bang, then thought it was a car crash out on the road. Then police cars and emergency crews swarmed the street.

"It was very wild, you had everybody in the complex out here," O'Donnell said..

Not long after they learned Kelley had been shot. She later died at Parrish Medical Center.

Wednesday officers searched the area around the apartment, near a fence bordering the property and near the back porch where the shots were fired.

We went by Kelley's Mims home -- there was no one there. A "no trespassing" sign is up by the front door.

Out front, several kids bikes and toys.

Meantime neighbors back at the apartments are still upset.

"It's heartbreaking, my prayers go out to her and her family," said O'Donnell.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
