A man was arrested over the weekend after police said he stabbed another man two times in the neck while he was dancing at Razzle's Nightclub in Daytona Beach.

Russell Verhey, 45, of Edgewater, was charged with aggravated battery on a person with a deadly weapon.

According to a charging affidavit, the victim said he was "stabbed while dancing with a woman by an unknown male" around 12:43 a.m. Sunday, June 26.

The victim was taken to an area hospital via ambulance with serious injuries. He suffered two punctured lacerations to the side of his neck — one just below his ear and the other in the middle part of his neck, a report states.

Both lacerations required stitches. In addition, the victim suffered a laceration to the ring finger on his right hand, which required eight stitches.

According to video surveillance inside the establishment, Verhey is seen exchanging words with the victim. He’s then seen striking the victim in a swinging motion.

Verhey is seen walking out of Razzle's while concealing the weapon, a report states.

The victim was able to identify Verhey out of a photo lineup.

Verhey was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on $20,000 bond. According to jail records, Verhey has been arrested several times in Volusia County dating back to 2005.
