A statewide manhunt is underway for a man accused of shooting and killing his ex-wife's boyfriend and injuring her early Wednesday morning in Winter Springs.

Winter Springs police said they are looking for 63-year-old Michael R. Friedman who they believe shot and killed his ex-wife's boyfriend.

The incident happened around 1a.m. Wednesday morning.

Police said Michael Friedman drove north from Delray Beach, about two and a half hours to confront his ex-wife.

Michael R. Friedman, 63, is wanted in connection with the shooting. If you see him, call 911.

During the confrontation her boyfriend was shot and she was injured. He later died at ORMC. She was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.

We're told two teenage boys were also in the home, one of them is Friedman's son. They were not injured.

Friedman moved out of the family's home when the couple separated in 2013. The divorce wasn't finalized until March of 2015.

According to court records she filed two injunctions against Friedman in 2013. Only one was granted after she said he kicked the door in and threatened to kill her.

She told police Friedman was bi-polar and off his medications at the time.

According to Seminole County Public Schools officials, Friedman was a teacher at Markham Woods Middle School. He was hired in 2009 and left in April 2011 "for personal reasons," said Michael Lawrence spokesperson for the district.

His ex-wife is also a teacher in the Seminole county school district.

Police said Friedman is expected to be driving a silver-colored 2014 Hyundai Azera with Florida license plate N722VU. Police said he is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call 911.
