A man armed with a sledgehammer crashed his van into a Marion County home Sunday and then kidnapped the woman inside, deputies said.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. along the 2000 block of Southwest 153rd Loop in the Marion Oaks area.

The man, later identified as 24-year-old Dalton Andrew Goodhue, drove a Chrysler van into the front of the home and forced 39-year-old Tracy Ann Dance "to leave with him against her will," deputies said.

Goodhue and Dance were located at an American Inn in East Dublin, Georgia, around 4 a.m. — about eight hours after the kidnapping, deputies said.

Dance was safe when she was found, deputies said.

"When you walk up to the scene, you can see tire marks in the yard, cinder blocks all around, broken glass, broken window, broken doors all scattered around the yard," said Lauren Lettelier, of the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said they think Goodhue and Dance had some sort of relationship, but the details aren't clear at this time.

Goodhue, who has a violent criminal history, has been taken into custody. Charges haven't been released.

Marion County deputies said Dalton Goodhue was armed with a sledgehammer and crashed the van right into a Marion Oaks home.

Dalton Andrew Goodhue, 24, was arrested in East Dublin, Georgia. Charges haven't been released.
