A 19-year-old was killed and four other teenagers, all 18 years old, were seriously injured early Tuesday after a pickup truck overturned along U.S. Highway 192 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver, 19-year-olf Dominic Lee from Kissimmee, was traveling eastbound on US-192 around 4:20 a.m. near the intersection with Radar Road.

For an unknown reason, Lee lost control of the Chevrolet pickup truck and traveled over the center median and into the westbound lanes.

The truck overturned multiple times. The driver and some of the passengers were ejected from the vehicle, a report states. It remains under investigation which passengers were ejected from the vehicle.

Lee was an Osceola High School football player. He was number 15 on the team, and his friends said he was always the player that could make everyone smile.

“Dominic was a clown, he was a funny dude but at game time he was serious.” said teammate Carlos Becker.

Lee graduated last week and Becker said the 19-year-old had plans to play football at Butler Community College in Kansas this fall.

While his family, friends and former teammates at Osceola High School try to deal with this tragic loss, the Florida Highway Patrol investigators are trying to figure out what happened.

Troopers said Lee wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Four 18-year-olds were riding in the bed of the pickup truck. Da'Ja Clayton, Rakeem Randall, Breyuna Walker and Darnell Clayton all survived but were seriously hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.

We’ve been told the Osceola County School District is providing grief counselors at Osceola High and Gateway High School where some of the injured students attended.
