Damage across Central Florida Friday as strong storms brought heavy rain and gusty winds.

Here's what you need to know for Central Florida's weather for the weekend:

  • Feels-like temperatures head back into the 100s
  • Rain chances up to 40% for Saturday
  • The tropics remain quiet at this time

At one point, parts of Flagler, Seminole, Orange, Volusia and Osceola counties were under thunderstorm warnings Friday.

Strong winds blew through Seminole County, ripping off roofs, toppling trees and leaving heavy storm damage in Casselberry.

"I looked out in here and I said, ‘do you know the porch is gone?’ She said no,” said Floyd Jacobs.

Jacobs has lived on Lake Kathryn Circle in Casselberry for 50 years and he’s never seen anything like Friday's storm, which blew his back patio onto his roof.

"I went through three hurricanes, counting Charley," Jacobs said. "Closed our street off for a week with that many trees down and here this storm took out what Charley didn’t.”

Also along Lake Kathryn Drive, strong winds toppled power lines and bounced a neighborhood toy.

“We’re just looking out the window and we start seeing a flying object and at first we’re like what is that? And then we saw it and it was a trampoline," said Stephanie Fitzpatrick.

The severe weather toppled several large trees in the area, including this cluster on North Triplett Lake Drive near Secret Lake Park.  Neighbors say Friday’s storm in the Casselberry area was definitely more than your average afternoon showers.

Ground crews at Orlando International Airport were briefly put on hold because they can't unload luggage from planes if lightning is within a three-mile radius.

Orlando officially tied a temperature record set in 1998, reaching 100 degrees on Friday.

We managed to tie a record high Friday of 100 set back in 1998 at the Orlando International Airport.  We also haven’t been to 100 in over 15 years!

The rest of our night will continue to slowly clear out.  Lows will be warm, but falling into the mid-70s by morning.

We’ll keep a 40 percent to 50 percent coverage on our storms both Saturday and Sunday, although it won’t be a complete weekend washout. Storms will have plenty of fuel to become strong, producing torrential rain, vivid lightning, and wind gusts. High temps won’t change, as we top the middle 90s both days. Overnight lows only bottom out in the mid to upper 70s. Don’t cancel your Father’s Day plans! Have a plan b ready, just in case you need to move any outdoor activities inside. You may just want to find a way to cool off inside anyway. Oh, and we officially welcome summer Sunday.

What’s left of Bill is finally making its way into the Ohio Valley, bringing very heavy rain to several states. He is forecast to downgrade early Saturday. A few tropical waves in the Caribbean will continue to bring the islands afternoon downpours. No tropical cyclone development is in the cards for at least the next 5 days.
